Razor 101 In-Salon
This class will teach you the fundamentals of cutting with a razor and build a solid foundation in razor cutting. Educator: Rachel Radford @rachelsrad
Students will learn:
• The anatomy of a razor
• How to hold their razor for safety and precision.
• The hows and whys of weight removal.
• How to use proper stroke to remove weight and length.
* How products can enhance your cutting experience.
• Develop your eye.
• Learn hand drying techniques as well as explore multiple ways to style your razor cut.
Razor, combs, hairdryer, clips
Up to 6 students can participate in the hands-on portion. Unlimited students can watch the demo.
Location: Your Salon *Please note: To book this class, please be sure your salon is within 160 miles of Ceremony Salon, Carrboro NC.
Hands-On models are required for this class. Your salon is responsible for getting appropriate models. The ideal model would have straight to wavy texture and be willing to cut at least 3 inches.
Cancellation Policy: Payment is 100% refundable if cancellations are made 30 days prior to scheduled class date. Your payment is 50% refundable for cancellations made after the 30-day cut off date. Payment is non-refundable if cancellations are made within 1 week of the scheduled class.
About Rachel: Rachel Radford began her career in hairdressing in 2005 after a short stint in graphic design. She has had extensive training in razor cutting and advanced styling techniques with industry elites such as Bumble and Bumble, Oribe, and R+Co's Garren and Howard McLaren. She has assisted world-renowned hairdressers Laurent Phillion, James Pecis, Amy Farid, and Rudi Lewis backstage at New York Fashion Week, mentored other hairdressers, and continues to grow her skill set for her loyal clientele. She created Ceremony Education to make continuing hairdressing education more accessible to those who work independently, or work in small salons that are not in big cities. She feels she has been lucky enough to be trained by the best in the industry and feels a responsiblity to share what she’s learned. Her passion for education and her craft is evident in her approachable teaching style.
